Nature's Valley
One of the most
spectacular areas of South Africa, Nature's Valley lies at the
bottom of the Groot River Gorge where the pristine river
opens into a spectacular lagoon before gently flowing into the sea. This is an isolated naturally
peaceful area with a small shop, church, a South African
National Parks'
Board office offering camping facilities, a stunning lagoon and the most incredible pristine beach.
Spectacularly beautiful, Nature's Valley is uniquely established
within the Tsitsikamma National Park.
Houses for sale
at Nature's Valley are rare and always in great demand.
Most homes are held within the same families for many years. No
further residential development may take place within the Park
and the scarcity factor results in Nature's Valley property selling at a
premium.
Access to Nature's
Valley is via the N2 National Highway between Port Elizabeth
and
Plettenberg Bay, just 34kms from Plettenberg Bay as one
approaches the quaint village called The Crags. The stunning
Groot River Pass, built by Italian Prisoners of War,
winds its way down from the escarpment through the most spectacular forested ravines to
the beach where the small village of Nature's Valley is home to
approximately 400 mostly log style homes. Buck and other small animals
roam freely amongst the homes whose owners are encouraged not
to erect fences.
The surrounding
areas of Nature's Valley and in particular the plateau above the
valley is popular for dairy farming and forestry, and there are
a number of backpacker lodges, self-catering guest houses and
bed & breakfast establishments. The N2 National Road passes over
the Groot River Bridge, and proceeds to the nearby Bloukrans
River Bridge where a private company operates the
world's highest bungee jump facility.
Nature's Valley is
a true holiday paradise or retirement haven for the fortunate
few
